NOTE: Only playable as Player 1

NBC Operations are the dark specter of the Cold War battlefield. This tutorial introduces the player to the core functions and tactical employment of NBC assets and the side effects of their use in the battle space. While they can cause massive losses to enemy troops, they do come with a cost and their lingering after effects do not care what side fired the weapons.

In this scenario, players will assume command of various NBC capable platforms, including artillery (howitzers and rockets) and a surface-to-surface missile (SSM) systems. Missions covered include:

Nuclear and chemical delivery systems

This tutorial focuses on the delivery of chemical and tactical nuclear weapons against enemy targets.

This tutorial is designed for new and returning players who have completed earlier tutorials. Familiarity with the user interface, basic unit control, and movement is recommended.

NOTE: This scenario is built on the same scenario as the Artillery Operations Tutorial and is focused only on the use of Chemical and Nuclear weapons within that scenario.

Upon completion of this tutorial, you will be able to:

Select and prioritize targets based on tactical impact

Fire nuclear and chemical missions using provided assets

WARNING: Hostile ground forces are present on the map. Players must now conduct NBC Operations and maintain situational awareness of enemy movements.

During the Cold War, NBC (Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical) weapons were a central element of military strategy for both the United States and the Soviet Union. They included a wide range of tactical nuclear weapons, such as nuclear artillery shells, surface-to-surface ballistic missiles and air-dropped systems. Biological (not modeled in the game) and chemical weapons were also developed and deployed. Use of these systems was seen as a stepping stone to a full nuclear war.
