CA1-SN1 Hold Them There

D+5 | 25 Jul 1989, 0500hrs - 0900hrs vs @ Rottenburg

During the night, the West German forces that had been fighting the Soviet 20 Motor Rifle Division (MRD) conducted a rearward passage of lines. This handed the battle over to 2nd Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry (PPCLI) Battalion (Bn), who have been preparing their defence line for most of the last day.

Intelligent reports indicate that the 20th MRD has been in battle for the last 36 hours and has taken many losses. Overall, the force is tired and running low on supplies. The 20th MRD is spread out over 50 km, with lead elements approaching Tubingen and the tail just to the West of Ulm. Three of the four Regiments in the division have taken significant losses. Only the 242nd Motor Rifle Regiment has been untouched and they have taken the lead for the division.
